MADE Nepal, with support from The Charitable Foundation (TCF) Australia, is implementing a pond management project in Buddhabhumi Municipality and Bijayanagar Rural Municipality of Kapilvastu District.
The project focuses on addressing key challenges in pond management, crop diversification, and financial empowerment to improve the livelihoods of communities in Kapilvastu. The project aims to ensure year-round irrigation water availability for farmers, enabling them to adopt diverse agricultural activities, particularly high-value crops. To support this transition, farmers will receive technical training on farming techniques, efficient water management, and sustainable agricultural practices. Strengthening cooperatives will be a key component, allowing farmers to collaborate and share resources. A revolving fund will be established, accessible to farmer groups engaged in common agricultural production, providing financial support for inputs and infrastructure.
